Nearly two decades after it first hit theaters,Watch Sexy Urban Legends episode 9 season 1 (2001) Unbreakableis finally getting a sequel.
But in typical M. Night Shyamalan fashion, there's a twist.
SEE ALSO: Here's a twist: M. Night Shyamalan is king of the box office againAs announced by the filmmaker today, his sequel to Unbreakablewill alsobe a sequel to Split– the thriller by Shyamalan that opened earlier this year.
My new film is the sequel to #Unbreakable AND #Split. It was always my dream to have both films collide in this third film.
— M. Night Shyamalan (@MNightShyamalan) April 26, 2017
The new film, titled Glass, will bring back Split's James McAvoy as Kevin Wendell Crumb, along with Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch) as Casey Cooke. Returning from Unbreakablewill be Bruce Willis as David Dunn and (of course) Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price, a.k.a. Mr. Glass.
Splitcentered on a man (McAvoy) with 24 distinct personalities, the last of which ("the Beast") is the most dangerous. Taylor-Joy played one of the victims kidnapped by Kevin to be a sacrifice to the Beast.
The film featured a surprise cameo by Willis as David Dunn, who was revealed in Unbreakableto have superhuman abilities. That same scene also included a reference to Dunn's nemesis Mr. Glass.
There's no word yet on when shooting on Glasswill begin. Considering that Shyamalan's script is already complete, though, we'd guess it'll get rolling sooner rather than later.
Universal Pictures will release the film on January 18, 2019.
