A giant metal slide has opened in one of the hottest cities in the U.S.
Belgian artist Carsten Höller brought one of his world famous spiral slides to Miami's Aventura Mall. The Ikaw Lang Ang Mahal93-foot-tall double slide opened on Saturday, and is the artist's first permanent American installation.
SEE ALSO: The 'darkest building on Earth' is at the Winter Olympic GamesAccessed by a spiral staircase spine, the Aventura Slide Tower is composed of two titanium steel slides — the idea is to race your friends to the bottom. You just have to pick whether you race clockwise or counterclockwise at speeds of up to 15 miles per hour.
Höller said in a press statement he created the structure as “somewhere between delight and madness."
Höller's slides have appeared in multiple forms in cities around the globe, including a pair that snaked their way out of London's Hayward Gallery in 2015, and one that careened through every floor of NYC's New Museum in 2011.
Folks in Miami have been racing to slide down Höller's shiny installation, with some posting their gleeful experiences to Instagram.

Even actor Chloë Sevigny showed up for the launch, racing the artist himself through the slides.

It's not the first Miami installation for Höller, who teamed up with Prada to open a "schizophrenic" pop-up nightclub for Art Basel in December 2017, which took on a different theme each night.
The slide is open Monday to Saturday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m, and on Sundays between 12 p.m and 5 p.m. Go forth and sliiiiide.
