Sgt. Juneau of the Los Angeles Police Department's Security Services Division told NBC Los Angeles that the vandal, a lone man, was able to alter the two "Os" in the sign using tarps. A closeup photo of the sign showed the tarps used by the DIY vandal.

Security footage captured the prankster and is currently being reviewed to see if he can be identified.
