On Friday, Walt Disney World resort in Orlando announced that they'd be closing their doors this weekend because of Hurricane Irma. The theme park will close early on Saturday and remain closed until Monday as Hurricane Irma barrels its way through.

Irma is predicted to pound the entirety of Florida, including the coasts as well as the state's interior. Yesterday, Disney said reports that the park was closing early were "not correct." That has since changed.
“Resort hotels will remain open. We hope to resume normal operations on Tuesday, Sept. 12,” the company said in a release. “We will provide regular updates to our guests on all operational changes.”

Though Irma has been downgraded to a Category 4 hurricane, it's expected to cause major damage across the state. The storm is expected to hit Florida later Saturday.
Gov. Rick Scott warned that the storm could be more pernicious than Hurricane Andrew.
