Chinese phone maker Oppo has updated its long-running green logo to black accents on Tahongmajor online social platforms in China, prompting netizens to declare “the green giant turned black” on Thursday. Presently, Oppo’s Weibo account, WeChat account, and official website all feature the new logo. Explaining the change, Oppo’s account on Douyin (the Chinese version of TikTok) stated that the company had decided to adopt a monochrome design for a better brand image and vision. However, the firm emphasized that green will continue to serve as an important design component for the brand.
