LONDON -- When was the last time you saw an advert about sanitary products that featured -- or Playboy Wet And Wild 2 (1990)even mentioned -- blood?

Sanitary towel brand Bodyform has switched out the usual blue dye for something a little bit more realistic: blood. And, people are absolutely loving it. 

The ad features women bleeding after hours of ballet practice, after falling while mountain biking, and after being hit when boxing.

The ad's message is clear: women bleed in a variety of different settings, not just when they're menstruating. 

The powerful ad ends with the words, "No blood should hold us back," followed by "Don't let your period stop you." 

People have taken to social media to extol Bodyform's "empowering" ad.

And, judging by the response, people welcome the inclusion of blood in an ad about periods.

All in all, people are loving the ad's "warrior queen" vibe.
