Carrie Fisher suffered a heart attack on Watch A Wife's Secret (2014)a flight from London to Los Angeles, law enforcement officials said Friday afternoon. She was transported to a Los Angeles hospital while in critical condition, but she was later stabilized and taken "out of emergency," her brother Todd told the Associated Press.
The actress and author was aboard a United Airlines flight bound for Los Angeles International Airport when she went into what was initially described as "full cardiac arrest."
Fellow passengers tweeted that she had stopped breathing and that a doctor and nurse on board administered CPR.

Fisher was heading home for the holidays from her book tour promoting The Princess Diarist, her personal journal from her time on the set of the original Star Wars.
The 60-year old Fisher has written and spoken frequently about her health problems. She struggled with alcoholism, depression, bipolar disorder and drug addiction for many years.

YouTube stars Brad Gage and Anna Akana were two of the passengers near Fisher who witnessed events.

The Los Angeles Fire Department issued a statement via Twitter Friday, saying that a patient on an inbound flight was "aggressively treated" and taken to a nearby hospital.

At 12:11 PM the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to LAX International Airport, Gate 74, for a patient on an inbound flight in Cardiac Arrest. LAFD Firefighter Paramedics were standing by for the plane's arrival, provided Advanced Life Support and aggressively treated and transported the patient to a local hospital.
United Airlines also issued a statement Friday afternoon: “Medical personnel met United flight 935 from London to Los Angeles upon arrival today after the crew reported that a passenger was unresponsive.
"Our thoughts are with our customer at this time and any requests for additional information should be directed to local authorities."
