It seems that partnering up with a big camera name is Germany Archivesthe thing you simply must do as a smartphone maker.
Following OnePlus' announcement of the Hasselblad-powered OnePlus 9, China's Vivo has launched its new X60 phones, with cameras made in collaboration with Zeiss.
The most powerful among the new devices is the Vivo X60 Pro+, which comes with a quad, 50/48/32/8-megapixel rear camera, a 32-megapixel selfie camera, a 6.56-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, a 4,200mAh battery, and 55W fast charging.
The camera will shine in low-light scenarios, Vivo says, it has very fast autofocus, and the dedicated, 32-megapixel portrait camera should be able to produce some great portrait photos. The partnership with Zeiss is seen in several unique features, such as the Zeiss T* Coating on the X60 Pro+'s cameras, which reduces reflections and enhances light transmission, Vivo says.
The other two devices in the lineup — the Vivo X60 Pro and the Vivo X60 — have the same display, but the processor powering them is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 870. The camera system is also not as powerful. The X60 Pro and the X60 both have a triple, 48/13/13-megapixel rear camera and a 32-megapixel selfie camera. Finally, the X60 starts with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, whereas the X60 Pro comes with 12GB and 256GB as standard.

The phones are coming to Europe, the Middle East, and APAX "over the next few months," Vivo says. Specifications and prices will vary slightly. However, in India, the X60 costs Rs 37,990 ($525), the X60 Pro costs Rs 49,990 ($690), and the X60 Pro+ costs Rs 69,990 ($967).
