The Online Selling (2025)Social Security Administration has released its list of top baby names for U.S. kids in 2017. Surprise: people are still super into naming their kids after television characters.
The trend of naming a child after a Game of Thronesfavorite has always been a little puzzling to me, mostly because you never know when your favorite character is going to die a disturbing death. Nevertheless, two of the names that increased the most in popularity last year were Lyanna and Yara -- although Black-ishstar Yara Shahidi probably had a hand in the latter. Arya also enjoyed an increase in popularity.

Dream, the name of Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian's extremely cute daughter, was the third highest-rising girls' entry. (The top two were Ensley and Oaklynn.)
In other dramatic news, Liam has unseated Noah as the top name for boys. Congrats to One Direction fans.
Here are the top 10 lists for girls and boys, respectively. Next year, I'd love to see "Night King" and "Littlefinger" get their just due. New parents, let's make it happen.
