The Watch Married Woman Who Can’t Say No Onlinecity of Sydney, Australia is saying goodbye to a terrible 2016 with one final bang.
Organisers of the city's much-loved, multi-million dollar New Year's Eve fireworks will be using the occasion to pay tribute to lost legends from the past year, including musicians Prince, David Bowie and Gene Wilder.
SEE ALSO: Mind-blowing Croatian sunset is serious Instagram goalsIt's a change in tone from the display's previous themes, which primarily had uplifting (and admittedly very cheesy) titles such as "Embrace," "Make Your Mark," or "Awaken the Spirit."
The fireworks are set off around the harbour, with the Sydney Harbour Bridge as the focal point. It's tradition for the bridge to carry a neon symbol, which is revealed at the end of the display. In previous years it's been an eye, a pair of lips, and a light bulb.
Seems like the first moments of 2017 may be met with a Prince symbol and a purple explosion in the night sky. Fingers crossed, eh?

Sydney is amongst the first cities in the world to enter the new year, so you can stream the fireworks live online here and say "bye bye" to 2016 just that little bit earlier.
