After 10 minutes of overtime and Indiano end in sight, two opposing teams of Overwatchplayers devised a way to settle the score using different, rather unconventional method.
SEE ALSO: Blizzard is suing a company for blatantly ripping off 'Overwatch'Overwatchplayer TheBeginS shared a clip on Reddit Tuesday of an Overwatchmatch that had stagnated in overtime for more than 10 minutes, and was eventually decided when both teams agreed to determine the winner with a 1v1 melee duel using Torbjörns.
The duel was intense, lasting about 40 seconds in total as the opposing Torbjörns swung at each other with their hammers, slowly chipping away at their health bars as 10 other players sat and watched.
With no one else standing inside the objective, whichever Torbjörn reigned supreme would capture the point and win the match for their team. It was a close bout, but in the end the Torbjörn on the defending team won and took the point for the win.
Surprisingly, nobody jumped onto the point in time to ruin the outcome of the duel. Everyone stayed honorable in Hanamura.
Using melee attacks to settle things isn't exactly new to gaming; some competitive Counter-Strikematches start with knife-only rounds, the winning teams of which get to choose the side they start the game on.
If Blizzard's matchmaking algorithms end up putting more players in similar, evenly matched situations, maybe these Torbjörn duels will start catching on in Overwatch.
