We can Watch The Florist Onlinesay with a fair degree of certainty that Google's Pixel 5 is coming in late September or early October.
And now, thanks to a render based on leaked information, we now have a pretty good idea of what the Pixel 5 will look like.
Posted by known leaker of smartphone things, OnLeaks (together with Pricebaba), the render shows the device from all sides and reveal that it'll be ... well, kind of average looking.
On the front, the Pixel 5 will have a single punch-hole selfie camera, located in the top left corner of the display, and a small chin on the bottom. On the matte-colored back, a rectangular camera bump will host three sensors and a flash. Beneath it, you'll find a circular fingerprint scanner. Finally, the bottom of the phone hosts a USB-C connector and dual speakers.
This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed.
And that's it, more or less: No hints, really, of the rumored "premium" design compared to the Pixel 4a 5G, which is also coming this fall. In fact, aside for the extra camera sensors on the back, it's a dead ringer for the Pixel 4a.
For an even better look, check out this 360-degree video of the rendered device.
SEE ALSO: Google Pixel 5 leak suggests an earlier launch dateOne detail that stands out is the lack of the front-facing notch that the Pixel 4 had, which hosted a face recognition system aided by a radar sensor that also allowed for cool (perhaps not extremely useful, but cool) motion gestures. The Pixel 5 could still have camera-based face unlocking, but typically the feature works better with a radar/infrared sensor's assistance.
Add that to the rumors about the Pixel 5 having a mid-tier, Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processor, and it's clear that Google has given up on trying to place its flagship phone alongside flagships from Samsung and Apple, and opted for a mid-ranger to carry its flag instead. Which may be alright — if the price is right.
Of course, leakers are sometimes wrong, so the actual device might end up looking different than the above. We'll likely find out in a little over a month.
