Instead, it rolled a video of Donald Trump praising companies who gave very public one-time bonuses to employees after the Republican tax bill passed, including Comcast and AT&T (who's also quietly firing thousands of workers in the weeks ahead).
A few people noticed a distinct Orwellian flavor to the event.

It'd be great, of course, if corporations used the tax cuts to raise wages, improve benefits, and hire more U.S. employees. There's also the possibility they'll use it to reward investors with share buybacks and dividend payouts, and executives with bonuses.
