Poor little drones, free x rated movies forced to brave the winter skies with nothing but their tiny motors to keep them warm.
Sure, drones may be completely inanimate objects with absolutely no need for outerwear, but that doesn't mean we grown adults can't imagine they do. That is exactly why San Francisco-based artist Danielle Baskin recently designed a hot new line of sweaters for drones.
SEE ALSO: Here's the anti-drone gun of your Rambo fantasiesBaskin's drone sweaters, currently the hottest and only drone wear on the fashion market, come in for just $189. And if you're not interested in dronewear, you can choose from one of Baskin's many other surreal, sometimes unnecessary but otherwise completely inventive designs, including:
Pokeball Battery
"Trillbox," smartphone holders for bikes
Custom-designed avocados
Touch-pluto, designs of Pluto you can touch
Inkwell helmets, specially designed bike helmets
And peddler pop-ups, moving storefront designs
Baskin told The Vergethat the idea of drone sweaters started off as a joke, but she soon came to realize they could actually become practical:
"It started as a joke / art piece, but actually drone-owners in cold climates have told me that their drones have problems with their battery life during the winter," Baskin told The Verge. "I was thinking that I should add pockets to the sweaters that can hold portable heaters or make the sweater electric so it keeps the drone at a warmer temperature, and actually this would be useful, if not just for novelty."
Take a look at how good, not to mention cozy, this drone looks in their new wooly sweater:
Reach out to your pet drone. Ask them how they're feeling. And when they invariably don't respond, consider buying them a sweater anyways. Imagine the wonders it'll do to your Instagram feed.
