The Kelly the Coed 1 (1999)greatest celebrity social media beefs are the ones we never saw coming, and Miley Cyrus vs. Dolce & Gabbana over Melania Trump certainly checks that box. What a truly dizzying collection of proper nouns!
It started, as these things often do, with one of the less famous members of a famous family getting a pretty sweet modeling gig thanks to his hard work and nothing else. Apparently, Miley has a brother named Braison, and he made his runway debut in the fashion duo's show. Then things got political.

She ended her caption with a note to the designers, "PS D&G, I STRONGLY disagree with your politics.... but I do support your company's effort to celebrate young artists & give them the platform to shine their light for all to see!"

Cyrus is likely referring to their decision to dress Melania Trump which is a fairly controversial move in the liberal world of fashion.
Dolce & Gabbana previously had an Instagram feud with Elton John over their comments about In Vitro Fertilization being "synthetic," so if nothing else, Miley's in good company.
Following the Trump fallout, the Italian designers doubled down on the controversy by bringing back an old hashtag from the Elton John feud, #BoycottDolceGabbana, and turning it into a $425 T-shirt for Mar-a-Lago regulars to buy and absolutely no one else.

They insist that dressing the First Lady is apolitical and not meant as an endorsement of Republican party in the USA. However, plenty of citizens beg to differ after Trump came in like a wrecking ball and smashed up the Constitution.
Anyway, flash forward to Braison's big moment. The brand took note of Miley's Instagram and Stefano Gabbana reposted the same photo with their own commentary calling Cyrus "ignorant. They also reportedly commented on Miley's post with similar sentiments.

"We are Italian and we don't care about politics and mostly neither about the American one! We make dresses and if you think about doing politics with a post it's simply ignorant," he wrote, both in Italian and English to really get the point across. "We don't need your posts or comments so next time please ignore us!!"
Good for you for standing up for what you believe in, Miley. Now get Braison a (fashion) campaign. We hear from the Cyrus family he's the next big thing.
